Studies in Generative Grammar [SGG]
Ed. by Riemsdijk, Henk van / Hulst, Harry van der / Koster, Jan
ISSN 0167-4331

The architecture of the human language faculty has been one of the main foci of the linguistic research of the last half century. This branch of linguistics, broadly known as Generative Grammar, is concerned with the formulation of explanatory formal accounts of linguistic phenomena with the ulterior goal of gaining insight into the properties of the 'language organ'. The STUDIES IN GENERATIVE GRAMMAR series comprises high quality monographs and collected volumes that address such issues.

The topics in this series range from phonology to semantics, from syntax to information structure, from mathematical linguistics to studies of the lexicon. It has brought you such classics as Chomsky's Lectures on Government and Binding, and Emonds' A Unified Theory of Syntactic Categories, as well as many recent major advances in linguistic theorizing. In depth studies on specific languages have among others targeted problems in the grammar of German, Finnish, Inuit, Italian, Norwegian and Romanian, and many more are planned. As such the series provides a forum for advanced scientific discussions at the core of current theoretical linguistic thought.
